*Netflix released Chris Rock’s new stand-up “Tamborine” last week, adding to its growing list of high-profile stand-up specials. Rock’s last release was HBO’s “Kill the Messenger” in 2008.
During the second half of “Tamborine,” Rock dishes about his personal life: cheating on his wife, having a porn addiction, getting divorced and going through a brutal custody battle, reports The Washington Post.
However, in the first half, it’s familiar Chris Rock territory, as he jokes about raising kids, racism in America, politics, and getting turned down by Rihanna.
According to Rock, his encounter with the singer happened sometime after he joked about not being “invited” to her “panties” during his 2016 Oscar’s monologue.
“After my divorce was final, I was at a party and I saw Rihanna,” Rock says during his “Tamborine” stand-up. “I was like, ‘OK, let’s start this again. Let me say what’s up,’ right? … And I’m like, ‘How you doing, Rihanna?’”

“Do you ever forget how old you are? … Rihanna looked at me like I was one of her aunts,” Rock added. “She didn’t even register me as a d***-carrying member of society. Like, I would have had an easier time f***ing Aretha Franklin.”
When he hosted the 2016 Oscars, Rock mentioned Rihanna when he referenced Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Oscar’s boycott that year. During his opening monologue, he said “Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited.”
“Tamborine” became available on Netflix the same day 17 people were killed in a shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida.
“This gun s— ain’t going nowhere,” Rock says in the special. “There ain’t never gonna be no gun control. You talk about it too long, and you’re gonna get shot.”
He addresses the pro-gun argument that a knife could do damage as well.
“If 100 people ever got stabbed at the same time, in the same place, by the same person, you know what that would mean?” he asks the audience. “Ninety-seven people deserve to die.”
Rock filmed his special back in November, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
