*Oprah Winfrey has decided to remove Russell Simmons from future editions of her book, “The Wisdom of Sundays,” after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct, including rape.

The Wisdom of Sundays” is a spiritual advice book that has been on best-seller lists since its publication last fall. As noted by NYDN, it’s a collection of excerpts from conversations between Winfrey and guests of her OWN network series “Super SoulSunday.”

Simmons conversation about the “impact meditation has had on his life, as well as musing on the soul, abundance and wealth” won’t be included in the book, available in stores starting in February, Marlena Bittner, a spokeswoman for the publisher, Flatiron Books, said.

The publisher made the announcement in response to an inquiry from The New York Times. The news comes amid rape allegations that have been swirling around Simmons for several months, and last week one of his accusers, filmmaker Jennifer Jarosik, filed a $5 million lawsuit against him, alleging a 2016 rape.

via NYDN:

At least 12 women have come forward with accusations, some of whom detailed their stories last week on “Megyn Kelly Today.” Simmons has denied the allegations on social media, and the New York Police Department has revealed publicly that it is “reviewing information” on the matter.

Winfrey’s decision follows a similar move by“Shark Tank” judge Daymond John to delete Simmons from a chapter of John’s motivational book “Rise and Grind,” published Jan. 23.
