*The Urban Movie Channel’s first Original drama series, “5th Ward” is streaming now on UMC.TV. Among the talented cast is Thomas Miles aka Nephew Tommy, who shows off his serious side opposite recording artist Mya Harrison in her first dramatic role.
Producer Dominique Telson (formerly of the Showtime network) helped revive Greg Carter’s vision for the series and presented it to UMC.TV, where it was given the green light.
“5th Ward” is engaging, and highly relevant as it addresses the gentrification of urban communities, and specifically Houston’s 5th Ward.
Greg Carter is from Houston, so the series hits home in more ways than one. 5th Ward has a resonance for anyone who loves the place that they call home, although it changes day by day.
