*The two Sacramento police officers that shot unarmed black man Stephon Clark are back on the job, just as his older brother Stevante Clark was arrested on Thursday and charged with criminal threats, felony assault, felony vandalism and abusing the 911 emergency line.

Close family friend Jamilia Land tells FOX40 that Stevante’s arrest around 10 a.m. on Acacia Avenue in Sacramento comes after family noticed his alarming social media posts.

“A phone call was made to adult protective services stating that he was not safe for himself,” said Land, who’s been a major advocate for Stevante’s mental health.

She says he did destroy property but added, “Was he in his right mind to be able to make those decisions? No, I believe that he was screaming and crying. It was a desperate plea for help.”

Clark was booked at 12:10 p.m. local time and is ineligible for bail, his Sacramento County jail booking information says. He was charged with threats to commit a crime resulting in death or great bodily injury, a felony, and calling 911 with the intent to annoy or harass, which is misdemeanor. In addition, he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, and vandalism, a misdemeanor.

He faces a court hearing on Friday.

Land said she’s pushing for Clark to be transferred from the Sacramento County Jail to UC Davis Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Police Department told local news outlets Thursday that the officers who killed Stephon were back at work, but were not put on patrol duty. It was not immediately clear what their duties will be, or if they will remain on active duty.

Cops responded to a report of broken car windows on March 18, and shot Clark in the 22-year-old’s own backyard. The officers said they thought Clark was holding a gun, though only a cell phone was found. An independent autopsy found he was shot eight times, with six shots in the back.

The two officers were placed on administrative duty, though Black Lives Matter protests that have erupted in Northern California and across the country over the his death have called for their firing and criminally charges.

Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert said Wednesday that it could be more than a year before she decides whether to charge the officers, though the California Attorney General’s Office has also joined the investigation.
