*If you don’t know who Chris Sheridan is, just know that back in 2014 he was out there all by himself with a prediction that LeBron James would bolt from the Miami Heat to re-join the Cleveland Cavaliers. Well, he did get one thing wrong: where LeBron would make the announcement. But that’s about all. So, with that in mind, you might want to pay attention to what he’s saying now.

Before the season began, Sheridan said James would “100% leave Cleveland again due to his beyond-repair relation with Cavs owner Dan Gilbert.

Of course the King James camp quickly denied that anything like that was in the offing. However, since then, more credible reporters have lent credence to the idea of James saying adios to the Cavaliers because he and owener, Dan Gilbert, are not on the same page.

Well, not only is Sheridan doubling down on his assertion, (via NJ.com) he’s adding details:

When the information was given to me, my source said: ‘The entire NBA knows it. The only people who don’t are the media.’

The No. 1 reason why this is going to happen is because Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is a huge Trump supporter; LeBron is not.

Yep, Sheridan’s absolutely right about that. LeBron James is NOT a Donald Trump fan. In fact, he straight up called the president a “bum.”

As far as Gilbert’s allegiance to Trump, the thinking goes that it might be overstated. That’s because although he hosted a fundraiser for Trump and met with him, the Cav’s owner also donated to Hillary Clinton and met with her. The point is that’s what you do when you have the means to do it … you want to set up access no matter who wins.

That may be well and good to some folks, but it’s what LeBron thinks that matters. To most observers, Gilbert is seen as a Trump supporter, and that’s not a good look as far as James is concerned … and that could factor heavily into his thinking about where he plays next season.

As you can imagine, James is going to have a lot on his mind this Summer regarding his free agency. He’s gotta consider things like which team can maximize championship count, legacy, money, where he wants he and his family to live and maybe the political leanings of his team’s owner. So, who thinks Dan Gilbert’s politics won’t be LeBron James’ No. 1 consideration?
