*The other evening while I was on the road, a dear friend called to warn me about something. We both drive ride share, and he said a friend of his — another ride share driver — had just been scammed.
When he described what happened I honestly thought to myself, “and he fell for that?”
But hey, I’m not here to judge. He was in driver mode and the voice at the other end of the line must’ve “sounded authentic.”
After all was said and done, the scammer had stolen his entire week’s wages — upwards of $1200 — from his bank account.
Tonight they tried it on me.
