The place to be, at The ECBACC Pioneer/ Lifetime Achievement Awards 2018 in Philadelphia. The awards was inaugurated in 2004 to honour men and women, sung and unsung, who have made innovative, dynamic and lasting contributions to the industry and who have paved the way for others.
Nominations are solicited from and submitted by a select ad hoc consortium of comic book historians, writers, artists and aficionados who make their own independent submissions. 2018 Life time achievement award goes to five (5) veteran cartoonists who are modern-day creative pioneers and who have maintained a consistent presence in the industry for more than 3 decades:
They are Ray Billingsley (Curtis), Barbara Brandon-Croft (Where I’m coming from), Jerry Craft (Mama’s Boyz), Tayo Fatunla (OUR ROOTS) and Ralph Stevenson (Concepts in Communication, Inc.). TAYO Fatunla who contributes his OUR ROOTS cartoons to EURweb.com and overwhelmed by the recognition.
The awards take place at 2221 N. Broad St. / Philadelphia, PA 19132-4502 on Friday 18th May 2018
