*As dozens of women accuse Russell Simmons of sexual harassment, assault and rape, the hip hop mogul took to Twitter Tuesday to express his love for both the #MeToo movement and black women in general.

“The reason I haven’t been angry about my personal situation is because (I’m) listening to dialogue around the #metoo movement and looking beyond my own scenario,” Simmons said in the caption of an image he shared that read: “Shout out to black women just because.”

Allegations against Simmons first came to light in November 2017 after model Keri Claussen Khalighi accused him of sexual assault and harassment, which he denied days letter in a letter published by The Hollywood Reporter.

Screenwriter Jenny Lumet, daughter of filmmaker Sidney Lumet, then came forward in her own letter to accuse Simmons of sexually violating her in 1987.

“I’ve accepted responsibility for the life I’ve lived & been vehemently denying accusations for things that I’ve not done,” Simmons continued on social media.
