*News out of the ATL says T.I. was arrested this morning at his own gated community after he got into it with a security guard for the neighborhood.
Reports say the rapper was trying to get to his house Wednesday morning — around 4 AM — but didn’t have his key. T.I. and a friend argued with the guard at the security shack, who wouldn’t let them enter … and it got heated enough that cops showed up.
Henry County PD arrested Tip for simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Hmm, certainly cant tell by looking at his mugshot (above) in which he looks rather contented. 🙂
Police also say T.I. did NOT make physical contact with the security guard, but the guard feared he would be hit during the dispute. Under Georgia law, that constitutes an alleged simple assault.

Update …
TMZ is now reporting that the security guard who called cops on T.I. wasn’t awake … according to the so called King of the South, who says the guy was sleeping like a baby when he pulled up to the guard shack.
T.I.’s attorney, Steve Sadow, says:
“It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry. The guard refused entry. Tip was in contact with ‘Tiny’ by phone and ‘Tiny’ confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification.”
As we sai8d above, T.I. was eventually allowed entry, but cops say he returned to the guard shack a while later … and that’s when the guard called police. Attorney Sadow says the officers had no interest in “hearing Tip’s side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip.”
T.I. was booked for simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
BTW, T.I.’s already been released … without bail. He also responds in the video above.
