*For a minute there – especially after LeBron James scored 51 points in game 1 of the NBA Finals (but lost, anyway in overtime) – it looked like James Harden‘s chances of winning league MVP were not all that good and the award would go to Lebron or maybe Anthony Davis.

Well, as you know, James and the Cavaliers pretty much flamed out and got swept by the Warriors, which killed Lebron’s chances for winning the MVP designation. That brings us back to the Houston Rockets’ James Harden who, as of today, has finally won his first-ever Most Valuable Player award. He came close in 2015 and in 2017, losing to Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook, respectively. This year, as we just mentioned Harden beat out James and Davis.

Harden led the NBA in scoring this past season. He averaging 30.4 points per game along with 8.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 36.7 percent from three-point range.

In other B-ball news concerning Lebron James, the almost MVP was watching his 13-year old son, LeBron James, Jr., play in a basketball game as part of the “Balling on the Beach” tournament at Southwest Miami Senior High School. At one point in the game, Junior – or Bronny as he’s know – jumped into action, grabbing the ball and attempting to dunk on all his competitors. Yep, just like his pops. However, Jr. is NOT Sr. and he didn’t quite make the shot.

Hey, remember, Bronny’s only 13. We bet before the year is out, he’ll have scratched tat off his to-do list. And partly because he LeBron James jr., everyone in the gym, including of course his father, went nuts at seeing the kid almost pull off a move his daddy is famous for.

Meanwhile, like any proud parent, LeBron Sr. couldn’t help but brag about his son’s performance online. He posted an Instagram video of his son’s near-dunk, writing in the caption:

“Man what!?!?! First time he ever tried that in a game today! And it was someone kinda trailing him behind too! Surprised not only me but everyone in the gym. Man o Man.”

While James Sr. was impressed with the move, he shouldn’t be totally surprised. In the past he has said this his son handles and shoots the ball better than he did at that age.
