Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Scott, Kristen Stewart Confirmed for ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Reboot (Report)

*Another reboot of the 70s TV series “Charlie’s Angels” appears to be moving forward with Lupita Nyong’o, Kristen Stewart and Naomi Scott leading the charge.

The franchise was first revived for the big screen in 2000 with Drew Barrymore, Camron Diaz and Lucy Liu playing the three women who work as private investigators together for an unseen millionaire named Charlie. Charlie uses a speaker in his offices to communicate with the “Angels,” and his assistant Bosley works with them directly when needed.

This latest reboot from Sony has actress Elizabeth Banks both directing and taking on the role of Bosley, according to reports that first surfaced back in September 2017.

Scott, who some might not be as familiar with, played the Pink Ranger in the 2017 Power Rangers movie (which Banks also starred in), and is set to play Princess Jasmine in the upcoming live-action adaptation of “Aladdin.”

The original 1976-1981 television series starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith. The 2000 film from director McG went on to make $264M at the box office and spun the 2003 sequel “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,” which pulled in $259M worldwide.

A release date for the latest reboot is set for June 7, 2019, according to reports.
