2nd Annual West Adams Block Party with KRS-One, Masta Ace and SlimKids3 was Lit

Los Angeles – A standing room only crowd gathered on Adams Blvd. For the 2nd Annual West Adams Block Party. This popular party to end all parties for Labor Day weekend, was Sunday, September 2nd, from 11:0am-9:00pm. The West Adams Block Party was presented by Delicious Vinyl partners Mike and Rick Ross, embRACE LA & Dreamhaus LA.

The audience was a nice melting pot of all differences races and ethnic groups that makes Southern California as unique as it is. The crowd spanned all difference ages.

The free, all-ages event, was hosted by Sista Dee Barnes (Queens/New York) and DJ QwessCoast (Inglewood/LA) in the house.

The day kicked off off with DJ sets by NgaDave (DV Radio/LA), DJ Ethos (Morelia, MX), DJ R-Tistic (Gardena/LA), Kronika (Soulection/LA), DJ Rhemattic (Beat Junkies/LA) and Boomyard presents the sounds of Rail Up (Muneka, Kelman Duran and Foreigner). The DJ sets was on and crack a-lacking throughout the day as they showcased an eclectic mix of Afro-caribbean funk, soul, hip-hop to the delight of the appreciated audience.

One of the main attractions of the day was the Delicious Vinyl Pop-Up shop inside the Infinity Room. The inventory consisted of limited edition Delicious Vinyl and Lil Yachty t-shirts, Dilla Donuts and merchandise, plus Block Party Posters designed by local artist Aiseborn, Jacqueline Palafox, “Shirtking Phade (Bronx/Brooklyn/NY) and Cook (Osaka/Japan).

The kids were actively engaged while the parents/guardians were able to groove and move to the beats originating from the stage. Kids were able to enjoy and participate in arts and crafts, a soccer field, face painting and the wonderful West Adams castle jumpers.

Volunteers from various Los Angeles based non-profits was on site to raise awareness for the arts, music and charity programs in the community. The participating organizations were Dreamhaus, LA Fernando Pullum community Arts and Lets.Give.

Now the moment you all have been waiting for. Live performances for the 2nd Annual West Adams Block Party was provided by Hip-Hop icons KRS-One from Brooklyn, New York, Masta Ace, SlimKids3 & DJ Nu-Mark (LA), Illa J and Frank Nitt (Detroit), Nina Dioz (Monterrey, Mexico), Los Rakas (Panama/Oakland). Plans are already underway for the 3rd Annual West Adams Block Party. It is not too early for you to make plans to be in attendance for the amazing event next year.
