*Bill Cosby‘s sentencing has been moved to Tuesday. However, before the judge announced the delay, prosecutors requested Cosby get 5 to 10 years in prison — while the defense asked for house arrest.
As we’ve reported, prosecutors are absolutely against Cosby, 81, being placed under house arrest. They made an interesting point about Cosby’s wife throwing a birthday party for him back in July, complete with a live 5-piece jazz band that started jamming at 7 AM … according to neighbors. In other words, that doesn’t sound and feel like house arrest.
A defense witness is expected to testify on Tuesday ahead of the judge’s decision on his sentencing.
UPDATE (6:45am Pacific): Bill Cosby has just arrived at the Philly courthouse where he will be sentenced in his sexual assault case … and he was greeted by angry screams.
When Cosby exited his car, a protester yelled, “We believe the women!” and “Me too!”
Meanwhile, Cosby continued to smile as he walked into the courthouse, and even gave a small wave while one person shouted encouragement to the disgraced comedian. His wife of over 50 years, Camille, was noticeably absent.

*Bill Cosby is expected to be sentenced this week for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
As noted by The Associated Press, Cosby’s sentencing hearing Monday will begin with testimony about his sex offender tag and a debate over whether the 81-year-old should be branded a sexually violent predator.
Defense lawyers believe the state’s latest sex-reporting law is unconstitutional.
“It’s the modern-day version of a scarlet letter,” said lawyer Demetra Mehta, a former Philadelphia public defender, “which I think is sort of an interesting philosophical issue at this time with the #MeToo movement, but also criminal justice reform.”

Cosby was the first celebrity to go to trial in the #MeToo era and could be the first to go to prison after being convicted in April of drugging and sexually assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his Philadelphia home in 2004, per cbsnews.com.
The news site also reported how in the early Monday hours, Constand tweeted a Bible verse about letting go of anger: “Be wrathful, but do not sin; do not let the sun set while you are still angry; do not give the Devil an opportunity. Ephesians 4: 26.”

Meanwhile, the report also points out that “state guidelines for someone like Cosby, with no prior convictions, call for about one-to-four years behind bars.
“Obviously, the allegations are serious, and, except for his age and poor health, would normally warrant some jail time,” said Samuel Stretton, a veteran defense lawyer not connected to the case.
According to Page Six, “Pennsylvania’s sex-offender board has examined Cosby and recommended he be deemed a predator, concluding that he has a mental defect or personality disorder that makes him prone to criminal behavior. Montgomery County Judge Steven T. O’Neill will have the final say Monday.”
Cosby has added one of the state’s top appellate lawyers, Peter Goldberger, to his defense team.
“This is going to probably be a very important case for sex-offender law when it’s up on appeal,” Mehta said. “It’s an area of law that is just sort of unsettled right now. There’s a lot up on appeal, but there’s not a lot decided.”
