*When news of Tyler Perry offering Geoffrey Owens – the former “The Cosby Show” actor a job on one of OWN’s drama shows in the wake of Owens’ bagging groceries at a New jersey Trader Joe’s – a lot of folks gave the gesture a big ol’ thumbs up!

Of course most thought Owens would jump at the opportunity to work with Perry. Well, hold on. Not so fast. Perhaps Owens is not sold yet that the offer is real.

“#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shooting OWN’s (Oprah Winfrey Network) number one drama next week! Come join us!!!” Perry tweeted on Tuesday. “I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist.”

Owens, who played Elvin Tibideaux on “The Cosby Show” from 1985 to 1992, responded to Tyler’s offer, telling news show Entertainment Tonight, that Perry’s offer was “kind of cool.” He’s a bit skeptical because Perry had never offered to audition him before his photos went viral on social media.

“I mean, that kind of sounded like he was saying, ‘Come work with me.’ I’m so, like, skeptical. Like, really? Are you actually saying come work with me? Because we’ve never worked together before. So, that’s a very, very generous thing for him to say. And we’ll see what happens with that.”

Hmm, something tells us that before it’s said and done, Owens is gonna take the job.

Bill Cosby walks after it was announced a verdict is in at the Montgomery County Courthouse for day fourteen of his sexual assault retrial on April 26, 2018 in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

In other news, one of Bill Cosby‘s law firms that formerly repped him, says Cosby hasn’t paid them their $50,000

Attorney Sam Silver represented the Coz for around five months prior to his retrial – and conviction – on sex assault charges, but left before his case went to trial in April.

So, since the 81-year-old entertainer is refusing to pay, on Wednesday, Silver’s Philadelphia-based firm, Schader Harrison Segal and Lewis filed the suit to recoup their alleged losses, so says TMZ.

As we reported, Cosby was found guilty on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and molesting former Temple University staffer Andrea Constand in his suburban Philly mansion in January 2004.

Unfortunately for Cosby, the bad news concerning the case, keeps on coming. It was just yesterday (09-04-18) that prosecutors yesterday filed a motion requesting that judge Steven O’Neill allow multiple Cosby accusers to testify about their alleged abuse at the aged comic’s sentencing, which is currently scheduled to begin on Sept. 24.

As of this posting, O’Neill had not ruled.
