‘Furious’ Gayle King Could Leave ‘CBS This Morning’ After Network Shakeup

*Gayle King is reportedly furious about the recent changes at CBS, and she may be ready to leave the network’s morning show, “CBS This Morning,” altogether, Page Six reports.

The news comes after reports last week that the program was headed for a complete shake-up.

“There are real discussions about just starting over — anchors, format, producers,” a source said. “Everything is on the table.”

Among the biggest of Gayle’s concerns is the exit of executive producer Ryan Kadro. News of his departure became public the same day as reports that CBS reached a settlement with three of Charlie Rose’s accusers. While some have dubbed the timing of Kadro’s departure as simply an “unfortunate coincidence,” others believe he’s connected to the settlements.

After Page Six reported that CBS is preparing to revamp King’s “CBS This Morning,” insiders spill that she may not even stay at the network.

Oprah’s BFF handled the exit of co-anchor Charlie Rose with class as well as the firing of CBS chief Les Moonves but the exit of Kadro may be the last straw for King, who has just one year left on her CBS contract, the report states.

“Gayle is furious. She very much has had to hold everything together on the show. But she’s particularly upset that Ryan is leaving — and that he was mistakenly linked with the CBS payoffs,” said an insider, referring to recent reports on Kadro’s exit.

“It remains to be seen what she’ll do, and what her future is at CBS.”

Meanwhile, a source added: “There are all these very smart, ambitious women who could definitely benefit from seeing the company restructured.”
