Laila Ali Accidentally Hits Elderly Pedestrian with Her Car – VIDEO

*Laila Ali has got herself in a messy situation that will most likely impact her legally and financially. She was in an accident that sent an elderly man to the hospital on Tuesday. Specifically, she backed into him with her car.

Laila Ali sent a man to the hospital on Tuesday after she accidentally backed into him with her car.

Ali, 40, hit the man while driving through the parking lot of the Calabasas Commons in Southern California, according to a report from ET. Paramedics and LA County Sheriff’s deputies initially responded to the accident, where medics treated the victim on the scene but ultimately transported him to a local hospital where he’s in stable condition.

As you can see in the video, Ali remained on the scene and wasn’t arrested or cited. The incident is being investigated as an accident and not a crime.

So far she hasn’t commented publicly on the accident.

Awkwafina and Laverne Cox

In other news,  look who’s going to be announcing the nominees for the 25th annual SAG Awards. Why it’s non-other than  Awkwafina and Laverne Cox. They are set for the honors on December 12 at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

The ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, will air live on Turner’s TNT, TBS and TruTV and the networks’ digital outlets as well as on SAGAwards.org.

SAG-AFTRA president Gabrielle Carteris will kick off the nominations event, before which like in previous years the stunt ensemble action performance nominees will be announced.

As far as the two hosts are concerned, Cox previously won two SAG Awards for her role on Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black.” Meanwhile, Awkwafina, whose recent film credits include “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Ocean’s Eight,” is the recipient of a 10 episode order from Comedy Central for her self-titled half-hour scripted comedy.

The SAG Awards are January 27.
