The $200,000 Lamborghini Pastor John Gray b ought for his wife Aventer

*Pastor John Gray of Relentless Church in South Carolina gifted his wife with a $200,000 Lamborghini after making what he described as a “faith deposit” for their wedding anniversary — and he’s been getting slammed on social media for it ever since.

In an Instagram video “celebrating 8 years of marriage,” Gray presented wife Aventer with the keys to the vehicle while saying “Lamborghini Urus.” Criticism of the lavish purchase prompted the removal of the clip and the pastor responded to the backlash.

“[Eight] years. New Beginnings. New hope. New life. And for her, a new whip. I put a faith deposit down in February and God helped me to make my wife’s dream come true. Why not? She’s made mine come true!” he wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday night.

By Thursday, he was on Facebook Live becoming emotional at times as he defended his decision and noted that the Lambo was purchased with “not a nickel, not a penny” of his salary from church money, USA Today reported.

“My wife has pushed for my dreams and my vision, and she has toiled with a man who is still trying to find himself,” Gray said. “That carries a weight. I wanted to honor her for how she’s covered me.

His wife also defended her husband in her own Instagram post on Sunday, saying: “I will never apologize for how hard we work and how we want to bless each other,” she wrote.

“I don’t see anyone screaming about how basketball players drive what they do while you paying $$$ to see them play in arenas and on fields. We don’t live for people! We live for God!”

In a December 2017 interview with The Greenville News, John Gray defended pastors who drive fine cars.

“If the individuals that are serving are honorable and they are committed to serving, if they have saved their money and want to do something nice for their spouse — or they want to live in a (nice) home — you’ve got one life,” he said.
