*As we previously reported, fans of famed restaurateur and lifestyle guru B. Smith are outraged that her husband, Dan Gasby, has moved his blonde girlfriend into the home he shares with his wife of 26 years.
In a recent Washington Post profile, Gasby, 64, opened up about his relationship with Alex Lerner, 53, as he cares for Smith amid her ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Lerner also serves as a part-time caregiver to Smith. She has a room at Dan and Smith’s East Hampton home, where she stays when she visits Gasby from her Manhattan apartment.
Now, new details about her past have emerged, and it seems Lady Lerner has a thang for chocolate men. Get the deets below.

The YBF decided to do a bit of digging into the background of Alex and discovered some interesting details about the divorced mother-of-three. Before Dan came into her life, Lerner reportedly dated restaurateur Dard Coaxum, who calls himself “The Harlem Gatsby.”

Our source tells us Alex left Dard after he was found guilty of a deadly assault and sentenced to 15 months in prison in 2016. In the summer of 2015, Dard got into an altercation with a man named Julio Torres at a New York restaurant. Ish escalated and Dard ended up punching the man so hard he fell and hit his head, suffered permanent brain damage, and eventually died. Dard argued that he acted in self-defense. Alex, who was his girlfriend at the time, was there to see it all go down and even took the stand in his defense.

In February 2016, Dard was sentenced to 15 years in prison and Alex allegedly broke up with him after he went to jail. She and Dan met in the summer of 2017 at a Hamptons bar, and Lerner claims they were initially friends because she “didn’t want to go out with a married man.”
But after having breakfast with Gasby and Smith one morning, Lerner realized, “This is not a man cheating on his wife.”
“What I admire about him is that he takes care of her,” she explained to The Post.
According to Dan, they have been together for a year and a half. Although, according to The YBF report, she was spotted with her ex flame Dard after she met Gasby.
Gasby previously told PEOPLE that taking care of Smith was a 24/7 job.
“It’s the toughest thing I’ve ever dealt with,” he said. “Anybody who is an Alzheimer’s care giver knows exactly what other caregivers are going through. It’s 24/7. The complexity and the intensity of it is very tough.”
