Chance the Rapper, Backstreet Boys Tease Super Bowl Ad + Wu-Tang Announce ‘Gods of Rap’ Tour

*Chance the Rapper and Backstreet Boys have teamed up for an NFL Super Bowl spot that sees the rapper attempt to join the famed boyband.

In a teaser clip shared via the Backstreet Boys’ Twitter on January 17, Chance and the group appear in a teaser for Doritos’ newest flavor, Flamin’ Hot Nacho, set to air during this year’s Super Bowl. The set-up is similar to the one in their classic 1999 music video for “I Want It That Way,” as the song plays in the background, per okayplayer.com.

The full commercial is set to air during the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 3.

Doritos also tweeted a pic of Chance The Rapper along with the caption: “Our prediction for the big game? There’s a chance things are gonna get hot. Stay tuned 02.03.19 #NowItsHot.”

Public Enemy, Wu Tang, De La Soul

In related news, get ready U.K. fans… Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, and De La Soul have announced an epic “Gods of Rap” tour to mark the anniversaries of their iconic hip-hop albums.

The rap stars will play three UK arena shows together at The SSE Arena Wembley on May 10, Manchester Arena on May 11, and Glasgow The SSE Hydro on May 12, nme.com reports.

The tour celebrates Wu-Tang Clan’s “Enter The Wu-Tang 36 Chambers” (1993), Public Enemy’s “It Takes a Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back” (1988), and De La Soul’s “3 Feet High And Rising” (1989), per Consequence of Sound. 

“I don’t believe anything like this has been done in the UK before on this level,” SJM promoter Chris Wareing told Music Week. “This tour creates a legacy, it’s a moment. The groups are the biggest in their genres, they’re all celebrating notable anniversaries of their biggest albums and I am led to believe this is the first time they have all been on the same bill together,” he explained.

“It’s important to kick the door open and create something special that leaves a legacy and gives incredible value for ticket buyers.”

The tour will be hosted by DJ Premier. Tickets go on sale January 25th.

Sadly, no U.S. dates have been announced.
