the real crew (01-24-19)

*On Thursday, January 24, it’s Viewer’s Choice as The Real lets the fans pick the topics for today’s segments of Girl Chat.  By popular demand, the ladies discuss how long a couple should date before they have the talk about being exclusive and when it is appropriate to meet each other’s children.

Co-host Loni Love divulges how her boyfriend asked her to be “his girl”, and co-host Jeannie Mai lists her prerequisites for potential serious suitors. Also, did you know that co-host Adrienne Houghton is a grandmother?

The hosts reach out to a IRS employee in Middletown, OH who has been affected by the shutdown, and lend her a helping hand. The show will be reaching out to people in similar situations during the rest of the week.

Then, a fan writes in about which dream guest she would like to see appear on The Real– Keanu Reeves. Wait until you see the hosts’ reactions!

How Loni’s Boyfriend Asked Her To Be His Girl

Tamera Mowry-Housley: Are you and James exclusive?

Loni Love: No.

Tamera: No?

Loni: I just said we go together. I didn’t say exclusive.

Tamera: Oh!

Adrienne Houghton: When do you become exclusive?

Jeannie Mai: Oh! Visuals, visuals.

Tamera: When he hits it twice, right? Oh no! You said ‘go together’.

Adrienne: When he hits it ten times?

Loni: I’m just messing with you.  We’re exclusive.

(The Real audience claps)

Tamera: Aw, that’s sweet.

Adrienne: I love that.

Jeannie: Change of Facebook status. Oh my God! That’s so offish (sic).

Loni: It’s already been changed.

Adrienne: Hold up. Wait. Start over. I missed it.

Loni: Oh my goodness. How did this become the Loni hour?

Adrienne: What is official? What’s already been changed?

Jeannie: Like her Facebook status.  She can actually change it now to ‘In a Relationship’.

Adrienne: Now you just said James asked you. How did that conversation go?

Loni: We were at dinner. It was Christmas Eve.

(EDIT)

Loni: And then we went to church. We went to midnight Mass. And that’s when he turned to me and said ‘will you be my girl?’  And I was like, ooh… yeah.

Adrienne: How did that feel in that moment?

(The Real audience claps. Loni starts to cry.)

Adrienne: No, you’re getting emo, but and that so not you, so I know that it’s significant to you to have had that moment and I think he holds a really special place in your heart.  Those are tears of joy… and that makes me, as your friend, so freaking happy for you. And you deserve that and everything that comes with it. Like, you deserve that.

(The Real audience claps)

Adrienne: It’s special!   Like that’s really special.

Tamera: Aw, Loni…

Loni: I think that it’s important… getting off of me… it’s important when you’re with somebody to be very aware of what you are and what you are doing.  And I know in these days and times, we always talk about… um, a lot of us have sex before we have the talk… a lot of us date…a lot of us date multiply… But, at some point when you’re seeing somebody, you have to have a conversation, and it’s important to have a conversation because when you get people’s feelings involved, and there are other things, it’s very important to have that conversation.  Just be honest with them.

Adrienne: Good or bad.

Loni: Good or bad.  Why am I crying?

Tamera: (sings) Because you’re in love!

Adrienne: Because, you know what, girl? You got your feelings involved! These are your feelings!  And I think it’s beautiful, man.  I think it’s absolutely beautiful.

Loni: I can just see OK Magazine now, ‘Loni’s Crying’.

Adrienne: No! I think it’s beautiful! I think that it shows that you have significant feelings!

Tamera: They’re tears of joy.
