50 Cent Responds to NYPD Officer Who Allegedly Told Cops to ‘Shoot’ Him ‘On Sight’

*The NYPD is investigating disturbing allegations that a precinct commander threatened rapper 50 Cent.

According to TMZ, insiders say commanding officer Emanuel Gonzalez made the remark in June 2018 during roll call at the 72nd Precinct. 50 was expected to attend an NYPD boxing match in the Bronx, and Gonzalez allegedly told other officers to “shoot him on sight.”

The incident was not recorded, according to the Daily News, and Gonzalez tried to pass off the comment as a joke. But the department is taking the matter seriously, which is why an investigation was launched.

The “In Da Club” rapper (legal name Curtis Jackson) responded to the story Sunday on his social media.

“This is how I wake up this morning, This guy Emanuel Gonzales (sic) is a dirty cop abusing his POWER,” 50 said on Twitter. “The sad part is this man still has a badge and a gun. I take this threat very seriously and im (sic) consulting with my legal counsel regarding my options moving forward.”

In a follow up tweet, he described Gonzales as a “Gangsta with a badge” and added, “emanuel gonzalez is not fit to be a commanding officer.”

In a third post, 50 addressed Mayor de Blasio, saying “we have a system in place that doesn’t work with out good people. This piece a sh*t Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez has to be dealt with. He is a embarrassment to Law Enforcement’s.”

One month before Gonzalez’s alleged comment, he filed an aggravated harassment complaint against the “Power” actor after 50 posted an article about the officer’s alleged shakedown of club owner Imran Jairam.

The rap star referenced the case in a post along with the phrase “get the strap”, which is slang for “gun.” 50 deleted the post and no charges were filed.

Roy Richter, president of the NYPD Captains Endowment Association, said in a statement to CNN Sunday: “It was 50 Cent who put the safety of the Inspector and his family in jeopardy by publishing a threatening tweet that called for violence last year,” Richter said, referring to the now-deleted “get the strap” post.

Meanwhile, reps for the entertainer said he is taking the threat seriously.

“Mr. Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward. He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun.”
