Cosby Claims He’s A ‘Political Prisoner’ – Compares Himself to Ghandi, Mandela & Martin

*Bill Cosby is seemingly not accepting the reality of why he’s serving time in prison. As of late, dude has been trippin’, saying things like he’s a “political prisoner” on the scale of Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and even Martin Luther King Jr.

Earlier we reported that Cosby, via his spokesperson (Andrew Wyatt) that he was having an “amazing experience.” Now we’re hearing strange stuff come from the mouth of the 81-year-old incarcerated entertainer.

“My political beliefs, my actions of trying to humanize all races, genders and religions landed me in this place surrounded by barb wire fencing, a room made of steel and iron,” Cosby reportedly said in a prison letter obtained by Page Six.

“I now have a temporary residence that resembles the quarters of some of the Greatest Political Prisoners – Martin Luther King, Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Randal Robinson, and Dr. Benjamin Chavis,” he continued. “I stand upright as a Political Prisoner and I Smile.”

We suppose that to some of fans, it could be interpreted that he is a legitimate political prisoner, but the reality is that he’s currently serving three to ten years in a Philadelphia maximum security prison after being convicted last year for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Cosby’s statement also noted that he has no remorse “and will never have remorse” for his actions. He goes on to blame Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele as well as Judge Steven O’Neill for finding him guilty for the sake of political gains rather than a service of justice.

In other Cosby prison news, he was recently moved into the prison’s general population. The comedian, who is legally blind, now has a single cell in a two-story unit at the newly built prison in Montgomery County. Other inmates are assigned to help him throughout the day, given his age and disability, state prison spokeswoman Amy Worden said.
