Adina Howard: Stealing Wanya Morris (Boyz II Men) from Brandy Tanked Her Career [WATCH]

*90’s soul singer Adina Howard was featured on Sunday’s episode of TVOne’s “Unsung,” during which she recalled the time she was messing around with Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men.

Both artists hooked up while Howard was working on her second album and Morris was also dating singer Brandy. Adina and Brandy were both signed to the same record label at the time and word of their love triangle soon reached their boss at Atlantic, Sylvia Rhone.

“Two young ladies, a lot of their egos get in the way and were kind of going through it about a guy,” Adina recalls in the episode.

Rhone supposedly advised Howard to shift her focus to her music rather than feuding over a man.

But Adina made the mistake of speaking about her drama with Brandy during an interview with a New York radio station. She had some “choice words” for Sylvia and Brandy, and because of this issue, Howard’s second album “Welcome to Fantasy Island” was shelved indefinitely.

“Wendy Williams caught wind of it and called Adina. And Adina opened up like she normally would,” said producer Billy Moss. “Except, she had some choice words in there for Sylvia and for Brandy. That pissed Sylvia off, she was on fire.”

Howard’s friend, comedian Joe Torrey, also weighed in on the situation.

“You can be a boss on your record, but don’t be a boss to the boss that makes you records or pays you to make your record.” The “Freak Like Me” singer was eventually released from her record contract.

In a recent interview Urban Bridgez, Howard had nothing but praise for her former labelmate, saying “You know, I don’t have any thoughts on Brandy.”

“But I will say this; I think she is a very talented young woman. I’ve always loved her voice, and the past is exactly that,” she continued.
