*Billboard’s Gail Mitchell reports that music mogul Quincy Jones will be honored by In a Perfect World (IAPW), via a fundraising drive to build a school in his name. The facility will be located in a country of Jones’ choosing, and set to be erected in 2018.

“Giving Tuesday is such a great opportunity for people to come together as a collective and make a big impact,” says IAPW founder Manuela Testolini. “We can reach children alone, but we can do so much more together. Just $30 sends a kid to school in Los Angeles with a backpack full of school supplies. And $22 sends a kid to school in a developing country for one year. How easy is that?”

IAPW has thus far built 28 schools — including two in honor of Prince — in countries such as Malawi, Mali, Senegal, Haiti and Nicaragua, per Billboard.

IAPW previously acknowledged Jones’ philanthropic legacy during its first MAP (Music + Art + Philanthropy) event, where producer David Foster presented the organization’s Ambassador of Change Award to Jones.

Each individual who helps raise funds for IAPW (#TheQSchool, #Givefor30) on Facebook on Giving Tuesday can have up to $1,000 matched.
